What's New in AuditZap — April 2026

A busy month. Here is everything we shipped.

Free tier got a major upgrade

Several things changed for free users this month, all in your favour:

  • 3 audits per month instead of 1, so you can re-check after fixing issues without waiting for next month's reset.
  • All 31 checks now run on every free audit, not just the 9 critical ones. You'll see what's failing across performance, SEO, and quick wins (with full details unlocked on Pro).
  • One AI fix instruction per audit, free. We pick the highest-impact issue on your site and write the fix for you — the same plain-English, CMS-aware fix Pro users get for every issue.
  • 7-day Pro trial on every new signup. Unlimited audits and AI fix instructions for every issue, no credit card. Your free plan stays the same when the trial ends.

Already a free user from before this change? You'll see an Activate trial button on your dashboard the next time you log in. One click, no card, 7 days of full access.

Type a URL, sign up, audit running

You can now type a URL on the homepage and AuditZap queues your first audit while you verify your email. By the time you click the verification link, your audit is running or already done. No more sign-up-then-retype-the-URL dance.

Shareable report links

You can now share your audit results with anyone — clients, developers, your team — without them needing an AuditZap account. Hit the Share button on any completed audit and copy the link. The recipient sees your full results: score, all checks, AI fix instructions, and the AI summary.

The link is private by default — it uses a unique ID that is not guessable and does not appear in search engines. Share it with whoever needs to see it.

Score trends

The dashboard now shows a sparkline for each site you have audited more than once, so you can see at a glance whether your score is trending up or down. Click into any audit to see the full history and track the impact of fixes over time.

AI Summary

Pro audits include an AI Summary at the top of your results — a plain-English overview of your site's biggest issues, what is working well, and where to focus first. It is generated once per audit and gives you the context you need before diving into individual checks. Free audits get the one highlighted AI fix mentioned above; Pro unlocks the summary plus AI fix instructions for every issue.

Specific failing URLs per check

When a check fails, you can now expand it to see exactly which URLs are affected. Previously AuditZap told you "12 pages have broken links" — now it lists each one, with the URL and HTTP status code. No more manually hunting through your site to find the problems.

Two new checks — now 31 total

We added two new Pro checks this month:

  • JavaScript console errors — detects errors in the browser console that visitors never see but that indicate broken functionality. A common sign of a third-party script conflict or misconfigured integration.
  • Security headers — checks whether your site sends the HTTP security headers that protect against XSS, clickjacking, and MIME-sniffing attacks. A quick win that most sites are missing.

AuditZap now runs 31 checks in total across Critical, Performance, SEO, and Quick Wins categories.

HTTP Basic Auth support

You can now audit sites that are protected by HTTP Basic Auth — typically staging environments, client preview sites, or internal tools. Enter the username and password when creating the audit and AuditZap passes the credentials through the crawl. Credentials are never stored in the database.

This was the most requested feature from agencies using AuditZap to audit client sites before launch.

Try a sample report

Not sure what an audit looks like? The new demo report page shows a full example audit — complete with score, check results, and AI fix instructions — so you know exactly what you are getting before you run your first audit.

Three new free tools

We added three more single-check tools to the free tools library, bringing the total to 13:

All tools are free, no account required, and return results in under 10 seconds.
